Following the on-going drama that is the financial troubles surrounding Crytek UK, German economic paper Handelsblatt, published a report this weekend which claimed that Kotch Media, the company behind publishing arms Deep Silver and Fish Labs, was “for sale,” a claim which was quickly refuted publicly by Koch Media’s publishing arm Deep Silver who revealed that they’re actually looking for businesses to acquire.
“We have seen a recent report suggesting Koch Media is for sale. We are happy to say that Koch Media (including its premium games publishing label Deep Silver) is well-financed, profitable, and a stable and growing business in the entertainment industry,” wrote Deep Silver on Twitter. “Independent companies like us understandably attract interest.”
As a matter of fact, we ourselves are always on the lookout for responsible acquisition opportunities in the fields of publishing and distribution to accelerate our growth. But we are not for sale.”
This news actually brings a little hope to the future of Crytek UK who are currently rumoured to be in some financial troubles and, according to sources within the company, are looking towards Koch Media and Deep Silver to rescue them so work can continue on the upcoming Homefront game, Homefront: Revolution. Right now however, both companies are refusing to comment on the rumour.
I guess it’s just a matter of time though, right?
