..And the Saga Continues. Koch Media Acquire Homefront IP, Nottingham-based Deep Silver Dambuster Studio Takes Over Development.

Following the news that Crytek was in financial trouble with many UK based employees yet to be paid and even a lot of upper staff walked out from the studio, everything seemed on the up with Crytek revealed that they had been in a “transitional phase” and that they secured capital to continue as an online-publisher, unfortunately not everything is as rosy as it seems as Koch Media has just announced that they’ve acquired the Homefront brand and all coherent assets from Crytek and have Founded a new Nottingham based development studio to take over the development of Homefront: The Revolution.

Finally, some good news surrounding Homefront: The Revolution. Since things seemed to be going south with Crytek we hoped that the next game in the Homefront series wouldn’t go down with it. Thankfully that’s not the case any more as they’ve handed the reigns over to Koch Media who has re-purposed Nottingham based Crytek UK into Deep Silver Dambuster Studios.

“We are thrilled to see another great IP joining the Deep Silver universe,” says Dr. Klemens Kundratitz. “We strongly believe in the potential of Homefront: The Revolution and trust in the new team to continue the path we have been walking in the last years.”

Deep Silver Dambuster Studios is the third development studio within the Koch Media Group, joining Deep Silver Volition and Deep Silver Fishlabs.

No other details have been revealed about the current state of Homefront: The Revolution. As for what’s happening over at Crytek, we’ve reached out for a comment from the company.
