With Marvelous AQL set as their new publisher, the cult fighter Skullgirls is being brought to Sony consoles by Lab Zero Games, who also handled the 2013 PC port, with the Encore edition. Set to include all the stages, story and characters (including DLC) of the previous release combined with all new content, the game is being revived after its legal trouble with the previous publisher, Konami.
The Vita version will be playable on Sony TV with either Dualshock 3 or 4 controllers, both suitable for the 2D fighting romp that Skullgirls is.
The developers have also promised the game will feature ‘All play’ multiplayer lobbies and huge galleries of manga-style art. All the fans of game art out there, REJOICE!
There’s no definitive release date as of yet, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled. ‘Later this year’ isn’t too far away.
