For those hoping that the DOOM 4 teaser being shown at QuakeCon later this month will be simultaneously released online for all to see, you’re going to be a little disappointed. The games publisher, Bethesda, has announced that the DOOM 4 showing at QuakeCon is exclusive to attendees only, so if you want to see what the latest DOOM game is all about, you better grab a ticket, and likely a flight, to QuakeCon.
In a statement released by Bethesda, they explain that the DOOM showing, which was teased soon after E3 with a trailer, will be exclusively for attendees, that means that nothing will officially be released online for some time.
“You’ve been clamoring for it for years, and now the wait is almost over,” the post reads. “As announced in our E3 teaser trailer, fans in attendance at QuakeCon 2014 will have the opportunity to get a sneak peek at what’s been going on with the new DOOM game from id Software.”
All hope is not lost however, as Bethesda promise to show more “at a later date,” but if you’re a huge fan of DOOM, and you’re not attending QuakeCon, you’re going to just have to wait.
“This an exclusive thing we are doing for attendees as part of our Annual QuakeCon Welcome presentation. We’ll have plenty more to show everyone at a later date, but we didn’t want another QuakeCon to go by without doing something special for the amazing QC community and id supporters that have been with us for more than 20 years.”
QuakeCon is being held in Dallas, Texas between July 17-20, so get packing and book your flight, you’ve got a QuakeCon to get to!
