In a recent interview with Eurogamer, Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida was asked about the future plans for more Remastered versions of PlayStation 3 classics. His response was somewhat optimistic.
“There are requests from some consumers for games that were released later in the generation, like Uncharted, which people might have missed. That would be a good candidate. We don’t want to flood the market with remade games either. That’s lots of people that missed exclusive PS3 titles like The Last of Us, so it’s a great way to welcome those people back to PlayStation, saying this is what you missed.”
I would love to see a Remastered version of the original Uncharted games, although they already look amazing. So far there have been three Uncharted games, Uncharted: Drakes Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception. At this years E3 Naughty Dog announced Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End for the PlayStation 4 which will follow an older Nathan Drake as he searches for a cursed pirate treasure.
The remastering trend started early this year with the release of the Tomb Raider Definitive Edition. Naughty Dog are set to release a Remastered edition of one of the PlayStation 3’s best games, The Last of Us later this month and Microsoft will be releasing the Halo: The Master Chief Collection for the Xbox One later on in the year.
