Chinese phone manufacturer Xiaomi, have just celebrated the 10 million sales milestone of their current flagship model, the Mi3, and though it’s an absolute stand-out device, it is lacking certain features that more recent smartphones have, one of which being LTE connectivity. But that’s okay, as it seems Xiaomi have it covered and are holding an event on July 22 which we believe they’re going to announce the Mi4.
At least, that’s what we’re hoping anyway. Today saw the release of a teaser image from Xaiomi’s president Lei Jun on the Chinese social network, Weibo, which had the date of the event, July 22, a huge number 4, and the tagline “The journey of a piece of steel metal,” presumably suggesting that the Mi4, like with the HTC One, will have a “steel metal” unibody.
Right now we have some idea as to what specs the Mi4 will hold thanks to various rumours. Expect to find a 5.2-inch full-HD display, a Snapdragon 801 / 805 processor with 3 GB RAM, 16 GB of internal memory and a 13 MP camera sensor, it’s also going to come with LTE, as Jun confirmed that information earlier this year.
With a little under two weeks to wait, I’m pretty excited to see what Xiaomi have to offer and whether finally, one of their devices will make it to the West.
