During Geoff Keighley’s interview session with Hideo Kojima at Gamescom 2014, Kojima showed off another section to the cardboard box trailer from Metal Gear Solid V, that was shown at Sony’s press conference.
The trailer ended with a Playstation 4 version of the smaller, head-only box being put on and then a fade to black. Kojima then announced that he had another to reveal. Snake throws on a new box and it was revealed that MGSV was coming to Steam.
While there’s no release date for Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain as of yet, it will follow the same release schedule that the console versions have, with Ground Zeroes releasing first, followed by The Phantom Pain at a later date.
Interestingly though, the Gamescom Daily Magazine that’s being handed out around the convention, has a preview of the game with a date included. Slated for the fourth quarter of 2014. Although this could be just a rough estimate on the magazine’s behalf to fill in the section.
