The old saying, let sleeping dogs lie, obviously doesn’t apply in the world of gaming, when just about every last generation title that made a name for itself, is getting a spangly new update for the new gang of consoles on the market.
Square Enix, looking to repeat the success of the remastered edition of Tomb Raider, have announced that United Front Games’ open world, Asian gang/undercover cop story influenced masterpiece, will be released in a shiny, tight package of the full game and all of the DLC from the previous version.
If you’ve played Sleeping Dogs on PC, PS3 or Xbox 360 and ever browsed your online store, you’ll notice that the amount of content available to purchase is vast. The Definitive Edition will pack in $85 worth of costumes, missions, vehicles and fighting styles. Considering the game is already quite varied and lengthy, that’s a lot of added value.
The downside to this, is obviously going to be the pricing, as the title will cost you $59.99, the price of a new game. With the successes of recent high quality updates such as The Last of Us and Tomb Raider however, it may just take more than a few gamers’ interest.
As always, there are pre-order offers shooting up like weeds in a dilapidated country cottage and from Amazon, you’ll receive a twenty-eight page, limited edition art book containing concepts from the high-kicking title if you lay your moolah on the table before release day.
If you haven’t managed to get your grubby mitts on Sleeping Dogs before, this is a great way to enter the gritty world of Wei Shen. If you have and are a die-hard fan, you can pick up Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition on the 14th of October 2014 for Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
