Tesco Drops the Price of the Hudl Following the Launch of the Hudl 2

Tesco have today launched their next-generation Hudl tablet, the Hudl 2, and to celebrate the UK supermarket chain has slashed the price of the original Hudl tablet, which launched last year, to an even more affordable £79. The Hudl 2 was announced earlier this week and went on sale yesterday for £129, a pretty affordable price considering the quality of the tech found in the device.

If you head on over to the Tesco Direct online store page, you’ll be able to pick up last years 7-inch tablet for an affordable £79. The last-generation device is still a pretty good tablet in its own right despite being overshadowed by its younger brother the Hudl 2 which improves on the original tablet with a larger 8-inch display and more powerful innards. The original Hudl launched almost a year ago now for £119 which could be discounted even more if you earned some Tesco Clubcard vouchers.

The original Hudl has a 7-inch IPS LCD screen with a 1440 x 900 pixel resolution offering 242 pixels per inch. It runs on a 1.5GHz Mali 400 quad-core processor, and comes with 16GB of on-board storage. The device also comes with Android Jelly Bean out of the box but its likely there’ll be a handful of updates for you to download once you connect to the Internet. The device came in a number of colours too which are all available on the Tesco Direct page and you can still use Clubcard Vouchers to make the £79 price point even cheaper!

For every £5 worth of ClubCard vouchers you attach during checkout will actually give you £10 off the Hudl and its accessories meaning that you could get the device as low as £69 or less depending on how many vouchers you have saved up.
