EGX London has barely just wrapped up and already The Gamer Network has announced that next year’s EGX event will not be at London’s Earl’s Court because the beloved exhibition centre has it’s name on a wrecking ball. Enough about that though, lets get onto the big news! Next year’s EGX event will be at the NEC in Birmingham on September 24th-27th 2015! Even better news is that The Gamer Network are also freezing tickets at last years prices!
EGX came to a close this weekend and though it would be the last time the event would appear at Earl’s Court they certainly went out with a bang as The Gamer Network announced that EGX London 2014 was the most successful event in EGX’s seven-year history that saw a record 75,000 attendees visit the show over its four days. For those that missed out, the show featured over 100 unreleased video games to play and experience as well as presentations from some of the world’s most prestigious game developers and much, much more.
There’s no need to be glum though, as The Gamer Network has ambitious plans to expand EGX into something much bigger starting with a multi-year deal to move to Birmingham next year at the National Exhibition Centre and is set to be the biggest event ever. Even more exciting than that is that attendees will be amongst the first to try out the new facilities at the NEC Birmingham which are set to open in Spring.
“EGX has experienced amazing growth during our four years at Earl’s Court,” commented co-founder and CEO of Gamer Network, Rupert Loman. “And while we are sad to leave, we see the move to the NEC not only as a real opportunity to continue its success, but also to evolve and improve the experience we offer both attendees and exhibitors.”
So mark your 2015 calendars, EGX is coming to Birmingham’s NEC on September 24-27
