Friday saw the 32nd annual Golden Joystick Awards take place at the O2 Arena in London, Presented by Green Man Gaming, and oh boy it was a corker! Many, many games were in the run-in for awards this year but From Software’s Dark Souls II took the most coveted trophy of all: Game of the Year.

This Friday over nine million votes were cast by members of the gaming public awarding From Software’s impossibly hard action-RPG Dark Souls II Game of the Year beating the likes of Watch Dogs, Mario Kart 8, Titanfall and Battlefield 4.

Far Cry 4, Assassin’s Creed Unity, and Watch Dogs studio Ubisoft Montreal was given the Studio of the Year award and the Lifetime Achievement Award was given to Silent Hill and Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima – bless.

Many other awards were bestowed to well deserving games at the award such as DayZ winning the Best Original Game in association with Digital Spy Award and Best Indie Game in association with Official X-Box Magazine Award; Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft winning Best Online Game in association with PC Gamer Award and Best Mobile Game in association with Kiss FM.

Battlefield 4
really? I mean come one really? Your giving the best multiplayer game of the year to a title more known for consistently crashing during its first few months then anything else. the battlefield 4 fiasco is representative of every thing wrong with game development and they are giving EA an award for it.
