The rumoured Droid Turbo is edging ever closer as Verizon has officially started the countdown. The phone will be announced at 5PM (GMT+1) on October 28. The site gives little away but it’s pretty clear that it’s the Turbo because of the various leaks of the phone. Last month, we saw photos of it and we got a sense of its specs and it does look like a pretty incredible device.
It’s set to have a 5.2-inch Quad HD screen, a quad-core 2.65GHz Snapdragon 805 processor, 3GB of RAM. In addition, a 21MP camera and a huge 3,900 mAh battery. To put that in perspective, the recently announced HTC One M8 Eye has a 2,600 mAh battery, the LG G3 has a 3,000 mAh and the Samsung Galaxy S5 has a 2,800 mAh.
It will be very interesting to see how this phone does, not just because of the specs but also because the Nexus 6 is set to be released this month. According to the rumours, that’s going to be an impressive phone as well so if the Turbo has this massive battery, it may just put it ahead of the Nexus.
