UK pre-owned retailer CeX announced yesterday that they’ve started accepting Bitcoin for goods in more than 30 stores in the UK with plans to expand to their 250 plus stores in the near future.
The announcement comes following a successful trial in the companies Glasglow’s Sauchiehall Street CeX store earlier this year. There’s also a Bitcoin ATM in the store as well as in the Manchester Arndale CeX, where you can convert your Bitcoin into real cash.
“We’re proud to be first national UK retailer adopting Bitcoin, adding it permanently to webuy.com. Yes, you can now buy with Bitcoin and sell your old gadgets, phones and games for Bitcoin on webuy.com in the UK,” the company announced on their website.
Bitcoin is an online cryptocurrency that’s currently not regulated by any banks or governing bodies and is quickly coming the preferred method to purchase goods online. The only real downside to the currency is that the exchange rate fluctuates rapidly making the currency fairly unstable.
