Yannis Mallat the CEO of Ubisoft Montreal has apologised to fans of Assassins Creed for the problems that have been plaguing the first next gen entry in the series, Assassins Creed Unity.
“The launch of Assassins Creed Unity was a highly-anticipated moment for me and for the development teams around the world who dedicated a tremendous amount of energy, passion and skill to the game’s creation…. Unfortunately, at launch, the overall quality of the game was diminished by bugs and unexpected technical issues. I want to sincerely apologies on behalf of Ubisoft and the entire Assassins Creed team. These problems took from your enjoyment of the game, and kept many of you from experiencing the game at its fullest potential.”
It’s good to see someone from Ubisoft owning up to their mistake, hopefully the updates will be able to fix the game. Talking of Assassins Creed Unity glitches gives me a great chance to share my favourite glitches ever.
To make up for the disappointing launch Ubisoft are now going to be giving away the Assassins Creed Unity: Dead Kings DLC for free. The Dead Kings will move the action to Saint Denis the home to the crypts of former French Kings. Saint Denis will offer players a new open world to explore as well as the Guillotine Gun for both short and long distance encounters.
As Dead Kings was originally a part of the Assassins Creed Unity Season Pass anyone that has shelled out for the pass will be offered another Ubisoft game as well as keep all the content promised including Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China. The list includes the upcoming racer The Crew, the amazing Far Cry 4, Assassins Creed 4 Black Flag, Watch Dogs, Rayman Legends and Just Dance 2015.
The Season Pass has now been pulled from sale so unfortunately you won’t be able to get a cheap game.
I was lucky enough not to come across to many glitches while writing my review and gave the game 4.2 out of 5, although I imagine anyone coming across glitches wont agree with that.
