If you’ve played the survival modes in Alien: Isolation and enjoyed it, well, if pooping yourself while hiding in lockers is your thing, then you’ll be happy to hear that more of the same is available in the new DLC pack from Sega and The Creative Assembly.
Trauma puts you in the squeaky, white sneakers of Dr. Lingard, one of the three doctors involved in treating the facehugger problem that started the whole Sevastopol incident. Her story is told much like other characters, both seen and unseen, in the base game through terminal messages and recordings and her confrontations with executive, Ransome are well documented.
Over the course of three maps, you’ll be able to re-enact her story and take part in the proceedings that began the whole mess before Amanda Ripley managed to set foot on Sevatopol. Reoperation, Crawl Space and Overrun are the new missions you’ll have to creep through while avoiding old slobberchops.
The DLC blurb reads as follows:
“Racked with guilt and feeling responsible for bringing the creature on board, she holds herself liable for the death and destruction that ravages the station as the Alien is unleashed. Wanting to ensure that her research on the creature can never fall into the wrong hands, Lingard sets out to destroy all the data and do as much as she can to help the remaining survivors.”
Again, another survivor looking to stop the Company from getting their grubby mittens on research to weaponise the xenomorphs and a constant scenario throughout the Alien universe. It’s just lucky there’s a few willing to sacrifice themselves in the name of stopping malevolent higher powers.
You can pick up the DLC on your favourite platform through digital stores starting this evening for PS4, PS3, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC. You can also check out a Let’s Play video from the creators above.
