We’ve previously covered Bandai Namco’s Godzilla game here on n3rdabl3 showing off several trailer of the game which at the time was believed to be a Japan exclusive for the PlayStation 3. We always hoped it’d come to the west, but alas, there was no news. Until now that is. Bandai Namco revealed at The Game Awards this morning that Godzilla is not only coming to the west, but it’ll also be crashing onto PlayStation 4 as well as PlayStation 3!
Godzilla is a game where players take a different role than you’d expect. Unlike most monster-based titles you won’t be stopping Godzilla from destroying cities, you play as Godzilla, taking your rage out on the city destroying buildings and breathing fire all over the cities residents. Throughout the game you’ll be able to play as all of the different Godzilla’s from the movies, including the one from the 2014 movie, with explosions and effects similar to those found in the classic Japanese movies.
Players are tasked with destroying every city’s Energy Generators, you’ll also be collecting G-Energy which is used to grow your monsters size and develop skills.
“The game will also allow players to utilize a dynamic Movie-Style Camera Angle System, delivering the most epic camera angles from which to destroy both a multitude of locations as well as classic enemies such as Mothra, King Ghidorah, and Mechagodzilla,” Bandai Namco said in a statement.
Godzilla, as its simply called, includes a handful of game types including Mission, Diorama, and King of Monsters.
