Following rumours that Ryan Reynolds will be reprising his role as the fourth-wall breaking action hero, Deadpool, today it finally became official as Reynolds simply tweeted “Uh… It’s Chimichanga Time” on Twitter earlier this week. I’m actually looking forward to seeing “Merc with the Mouth”, Wade Wilson on the big screen, how about you?
Though it’s not an official official confirmation it’s pretty much as good as official, right? That is unless Reynolds has a penchant for deep fried burritos.. Who knows. Anyway, it seems Reynolds will be returning as Deadpool in the upcoming flick that’s meant to start filming set to begin in March for a February 2016 release date. Along with Reynolds, Tim Miller is set to direct the movie from a script by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, with Lauren Shuler Donner and Simon Kinberg producing the flick.
Deadpool, who is often confused with Spider-man, is a mercenary and anti-hero from a line of comic-books from Marvel. He wears a mask due to his face becoming horribly disfigured, and frankly he’s a bit of a nutcase. He often breaks the fourth-wall in the comics and has a bit of a mouth on him, hence his nickname, “Merc with a Mouth.”
Reynolds originally appeared as Deadpool in the 2009 movie, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, though since X-Men: Days of Future Past practically destroyed everything that happened in that movie, this will be a new-take on the anti-hero.
