Bigger is always better right? Fuhu certainly seem to think so. The new Nabi Big Tab, unveiled at CES 2015 in Las Vegas, showed off a series of three new Big Tabs that dwarf the previous 24 inch model. The new models are massive in comparison with the idea of having them up on the wall for the whole family to make use of, from writing up notes for chores to drawing the day away for both the kids and adults alike.
The new models come in at 42 inches, 55 inches and 65 inches in size and have fully sized touchscreens across the screen. The 55 and 65 inch models will be in full HD with WiFi, Bluetooth and NFC. USA Today report that the Big Tabs will be available at the end of this year, the cheapest tablet coming in at $699. The 4K HD 65 inch screen will obviously way up far more expensively at $3,999.
As well as the Big Tabs, Fuhu revealed the kid-proof 4K action camera, the Nabi Square HD. The idea is that although there are many high resolution cameras out there, there aren’t many that are suitable for kids to get their hands on that they won’t break easily. The Square HD is hoping to fix that.
The camera comes in at $170 and measures at 44mm on all sides, perfect for kid hands. It also records 4K at 15 fps, 2.7K at 30 fps, 1080p at 60 fps and high-speed, 120 fps capture at 720p.
Fuhu assured Endgadget that that the Square HD can survive in 30 foot depths underwater without a case and is for the most part shockproof and dustproof. They also mentioned how the camera is not designed to compete with other action cameras like GoPro, and that it’s meant to “family-first moments through the eyes of a child,” according to a Fuhu representative.
Ideally, the camera is meant for children over the age of 13 simply due to some components in the camera, though Fuhu have have had children as young as 4 testing it out with adult supervision.
A 4K action camer for only $170 though? Sounds pretty awesome to me.
