We’re expecting the new HTC One M9 to be announced on March 1 and it could feature a new 20 megapixel camera and improved internet connectivity.
According to ROM developer LlabTooFeR, who tweeted: “On HTC Hima [a.k.a One M9] we might see 20MP Toshiba T4KA7 as the main camera module.”
The One M7 and One M8 both had an ultra megapixel camera at 4MP. Although the company promised better image quality because of this new technology, it’s likely that the lack of megapixels would have been a problem or confusion to some consumers. So it looks as though HTC could go back to the standard camera. LlabTooFeR doesn’t say however if we’re going to see the two cameras like we did on the M8.
The developer also tweeted: “HTC Hima will use BCM4356 wireless module. It supports 2×2 802.11a/b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 4.1.” This wireless module will give users faster Wi-Fi and it’s the same one that’s used in the Nexus 6.
Last month, Phandroid found photos supposedly taken on the M9 but said it was with a 20MP Sony camera. So it’ll be interesting to see which one, if either, is announced on the new phone in March.
