This week is a big week for the gaming charts where everything gets shaken up. For the past couple of weeks it’s been a battle between three titles: Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Grand Theft Auto V, and as always FIFA 15. This week however, those three have been slapped out of the way by Turtle Rock’s 4v1 shooter, Evolve, with a handful of Nintendo titles also littering the top ten charts thanks to the release of the New Nintendo 3DS.
Evolve lands in first place this week, with the Xbox One version taking the crown as the most popular platform for the game, though there were fewer than 400 sales between the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions, this also marks Evolve as Take 2’s first chart-topping title that’s not Grand Theft Auto, since Bioshock Infinite in 2013. In second place comes another newcomer, a game many have been looking forward to: The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D for the Nintendo 3DS.
As for hardware, Chart-Track are reporting that with the release of the New Nintendo 3DS and 3DS XL, hardware sales have received a 57 per cent boost.
As for other 3DS titles, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate finds itself in fourth place whose week one sales are up 95 per cent on its predecessor, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, which is pretty impressive and is showing the series is becoming popular amongst players in the west.
