Holy Remakes, Batman! Another remaster in on the horizon, this time covering the Batman: Arkham series
Earlier today rumours surfaced that Rocksteady and Warner Bros. are planning to remaster and rerelease the two Batman: Arkham titles, Batman Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, which originally launched for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, onto PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. This was then followed by Warner Bros. announcing that Batman Arkham Knight has now been delayed two weeks, further adding fuel to the rumour fire.
IGN Italy is claiming that the duo of Arkham titles will arrive on current-generation consoles by Christmas, also adding that Batman Arkham Origins, which was developed at Warner Bros. Montral, won’t be given the same remastered treatment. Warner Bros has yet to confirm or deny the rumour, but if this rumour is true it’ll mean that the re-release comes months after the release of Batman Arkham Knight, even with its two week delay.
Could this mean that a trilogy-rerelease is on the cards in time for Christmas? It would make more sense that way. Of course IGN Italy could have been given the wrong dates and the re-release is set to land just before Arkham Knight, which again would make more sense. Or, it could not be happening at all..
Either way, it’s best to take this information with a pinch of salt until Warner Bros. or Rocksteady confirm the news.
