After last year’s confusing F1 2014 release, Codemasters has announced F1 2015 will launch on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One
Last year when Codemasters unveiled F1 2014, many were surprised that the Formula One title was being developed for just PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Windows PC. This of course left many fans who had upgraded to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One left without an F1 title, and for many of us, it was a fairly confusing decision. Now, almost two years after the release of the new-generation consoles, we’ve got a Formula One game on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Today, Codemasters has announced F1 2015, the official video game of the 2015 FIA Formula One World Championship, which will release this June, distributed by Bandai Namco in Europe. Set to arrive much earlier in the Formula One season that before, it’ll be the first time the series has landed on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One harnessing the power of the new home consoles to offer a new version of Codemasters’ proprietary EGO engine, offering a more real-world experience.
In addition to visual improvements, the game is set to offer a “step forward” in the physics based handling model of the game, according to Codemasters, which is set to be inclusive of both experienced and new Formula One video game players.
“The handling model offers enhancements and additions in over 20 areas, including engine and transmission, aerodynamics, fuel tank, force feedback, suspension and most notably a brand new tyre physics model, to recreate the breathtaking handling characteristics of the world’s fastest and most responsive racing cars,” explains Codemasters in a press release.
F1 2015 is set to launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC in June 2015.
