Microsoft is rolling out the first wave of Xbox One improvements to the Preview Program
Xbox Live’s Larry ‘Major Nelson’ Hyrb has today revealed the first wave of Xbox One updates are being rolled out to the preview program bringing with it improved Party Chat connectivity features, better Game Hub links, and improved Achievement notifications.
One of the main things I detest about the Xbox One is the way Parties can be so temperamental. One day they’ll work, the next day they wont. One person can connect, but another can’t. Sometimes players can be heard, other times they can’t. It’s ridiculous. Thankfully, the April update is set to include a brand new Party Troubleshooting option giving you the ability to see why exactly you can’t be heard in the Party, or why you’re not connecting properly.
For those who like to dive-deep into the Game Hub experience that’s being improved too with better Game Hub links. Now you’ll be able to discover Game Hub contents from Activity Feed items. You’ll now see when your friends follow games, you’ll be able to get to the Game Hub whenever an Activity Feed post relates to the game. And finally, they’ve added a link to game hubs from the game’s page in the achievements app.
The final update being rolled out in this first wave is an improvement on Achievement Notifications. Now, not only will you get told you’ve got an Achievement, you’ll also be able to find out what for without opening the Achievement app. If you do open up the notification, they’ve also improved the performance of the app so it opens quicker.
This is just the first wave coming to the Xbox One preview in the next few weeks, the second wave is set to be announced next week so keep an ear out for that.
