It seems that Disney just couldn’t Let It Go. Frozen 2 has been announced.

According to Variety, Disney have decided that it’s worth building another snowman and have announced the sequel to the Oscar winning Disney Princess movie Frozen.

The news came after the annual shareholders meeting at Walt Disney Co. today when Chief Creative Officer of Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios, John Lasseter, Disney Chief Bob Iger and the voice of Olaf the snowman, Josh Gad made the announcement.

Returning to direct the film are Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck alongside producer Peter Del Vecho.

There’s been no world yet on a release date, but no doubt following this annoucement that we’ll be finding out soon enough.

With the Disney short Frozen Fever coming out soon, the annoucement for the sequel isn’t too much of a surprise. Frozen Fever will be shown as the short feature before Cinderella on 27th March.

John Lasseter had this to say about the sequel;

“We enjoyed making ‘Frozen Fever’ so much and being back in that world with those characters. Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck have come up with a great idea for a sequel and you will be hearing a lot more about it and we’re taking you back to Arendelle. We are so excited about that.”
