G.I Joe should be a fighting game

Mortal Kombat, Marvel vs. Capcom, Street Fighter, Injustice, Dead or Alive and G.I Joe?

You know what I’m on about right? The action figure line turned cartoon, comic, bad games and live action films?

Why do I think this setting about a covert military unit taking the best of the best from all military units around the world vs a snake themed independent terror organisation called COBRA will work as a game?

Well for starters, both sides have a huge collection of characters that ranges from ninjas – like Snake Eyes and Jinx – to sailors like Shipwreck, who also comes with his own little parrot. On the COBRA side of things, you have ninjas like Storm Shadow, arsonists like Firefly and masters of disguise like Zartan.

So already you have your clean-cut good and bad guys like Duke for the good guys and Cobra Commander from the bad guys. Then like Street Fighter, you have all your wacky supporting cast like your Scottish Arms dealers like Destro, who also has a metal head.

DLC? Well, you can knock together a cracking mini game about racing. You have all the crazy little vehicles like COBRA’s  HISS tank and accelerator suits from the film. More DLC? Well, how about the long history and connections Transformers has to G.I Joe with numerous crossovers and continuity mixes. British nostalgia reference DLC? How about Action man, who was also a British spin-off on G.I Joe. Who else remembers Dr X and their Street Racer?

OK if that’s not your cup of tea we could at least make a decent game out of Snake Eyes right? I mean you guys like stealth because of The Batman Arkham games. I mean knowing what people want is half the battle.
