Although the HTC One M9 was only announced at the start of the month, the company could be set to release its cousin, the One E9.
Engadget has leaked the photos of the device and it bears similarities and differences to the M9. On the front, they are very akin to each other but on the back, it’s a different story. The HTC One E9 has a frankly huge camera lens and also in terms of its build, it’s much flatter whereas the M9 is more of a curved design.
Well-known tipster @upleaks gave the specs of the HTC One E9 just over a week ago. The device, which was called ‘A55’ in development, has a MediaTek 2.0GHz octa-core processor. In addition, a 5.5-inch Quad HD screen, 20MP back camera, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. @upleaks said that the front camera will be 13MP on the “standard version” and a 4MP UltraPixel on the “higher version”.
Engadget added that the dimensions of the phone are 156.5 x 76.5 x 7.54mm and the battery is 2,800 mAh.
The main differences in terms of the specs to the M9 are the screen size, where there’s been a 0.5-inch increase and a higher resolution, and the change in processor from the Snapdragon 810.
@upleaks also said the expected release date for the E9 will be the end of March so we’ll have to wait and see if that comes to fruition.
