Nintendo boss Satoru Iwata says the rumour that Netflix and Nintendo is working on a live-action Zelda series, just isn’t true.

Last month we all got a little doolally over the idea that Nintendo and Netflix were working together to create a live-action TV series based on The Legend of Zelda. According to The Wall Street Journal, who reported the rumour, the two were in the “early stages” of making the show, which was described as “Game of Thrones for a family audience.” Unfortunately, the fella who runs Nintendo, Satoru Iwata, says that just isn’t true.

Speaking with Time Magazine, in an interview published today, Iwata shot down the report saying: “As of now, I have nothing new to share with you in regard to the use of our IPs for any TV shows or films, but I can at least confirm that the article in question is not based on correct information.”

This however wouldn’t be the first time Nintendo has denied rumours and called them inaccurate, so we’re hoping that’s the case for this rumour. We really hope it’s the case.
