Video and images of the next supposed Oppo phone have surfaced, showing it to have almost a non-existent bezel on the sides.
Initially, two photos of the phone were leaked by Anzhuo. They showed it being held in both hands with the first one being taken when swiping through the home screens. Normally after something like this, the general advice is to take it with a pinch of salt because of Photoshop and whatnot.
However since then, the same site has posted a video of the device in action, making it seem quite likely that this is real. The video shows the use of the music widget on the home screen and the video player application.
What is makes this phone so unique is the fact that it looks almost bezel-free. In that sense, it’s similar to the Sharp Aquos Crystal from last year. The difference between the two is that Oppo’s one isn’t edge-to-edge at the top like the Crystal.
GSMArena notes the Oppo patent used for the new phone and that it uses light diffraction to give the illusion of a wider screen. This is the same technology as what was used in the Crystal.
Due to the release of the video as well as the images, it looks as though this device could be on the way. We’ll have to wait and see for an official announcement from Oppo.
