Over One Million People have Popped an Ollie in OlliOlli2: Welcome to Olliwood Worldwide

Roll7 has revealed that over one million people worldwide have played OlliOlli2: Welcome to Olliwood

Over one million people across the whole world have played the sequel to last year’s side-scrolling skate-’em-up OlliOlli, developer Roll7 has announced. Likely achieved by the game being made available at launch in March’s PlayStation Plus offering, in fact, Roll7 have credited this milestone to that fact.

“Having the opportunity to place OlliOlli2 in PlayStation Plus is huge boost for a small studio like ours, we’ve been able to take our user base from the tens of thousands to well over a million,” Roll7 director Tom Hegarty told MCV. “That kind of exposure wouldn’t be possible without the promotion that we get from PS Plus. With this new user base we’ll be well positioned to promote Not A Hero when it comes to PlayStation later this year.”

OlliOlli was a truly fantastic title which blended a retro art style with side-scrolling mechanics, with a more modern flick of the thumb control, and its sequel OlliOlli2: Welcome to Olliwood has topped that by adding more gameplay features with an equally unique and interesting setting. Roll7 are currently working on a new game, Not a Hero, which sees professional assassin turned amateur campaign manager Steve, charged with cleaning up the city by an anthropomorphic rabbit and mayoral candidate from the future named BunnyLord.. It sounds absolutely brilliant, and we can’t wait for it.
