Contractor developers inserted a bucket load of penises in State of Decay’s textures
It seems some people have an addiction with adding penises on everything. I had a friend at school once who thought it would be hilarious to add a tiny dong on every corner of every page of my workbook, I wonder if he’s working for this particular contractor?
In the early stages of development for State of Decay, Undead Labs decided to call in the help of a contractor to help finalise some aspects of the game’s giant map, what they didn’t ask for, or expect them to do, was to add a bunch of penises throughout the textures. Fortunately due to the game’s resolution they weren’t visible to the general public. It wasn’t until Undead Labs started raising the resolution for the Xbox One re-release did they realise the world was full of dicks.
The world of State of Decay I mean..
Speaking with XBLAFans at PAX this past weekend, Undead Labs designer, Geoffrey Card, revealed that a bunch of contractors working on the game thought it’d be the funniest thing ever to add schlongs everywhere.
“Some of our contractors worked a ridiculous amount of genitalia into the background,” he said. Thanks to the low resolution textures the penises will never be seen by anyone other than the developers and it’s safe to say that Undead Labs will probably avoid using that contractor again.
Microsoft has also since released a statement to Game Informer:
“Undead Labs was not aware of the textures in question until they began the process of exporting textures for State of Decay: Year-One Survival Edition, and they are not visible in the original edition of State of Decay. Undead Labs is no longer working with the contractor in question, and this material will not be present in State of Decay: Year-One Survival Edition.”
