SeamWorld Heist set to plan its bank job a little later than planned
Image & Form has announced that their follow up, but not a sequel to SteamWorld Dig, SteamWorld Heist, will be getting a short delay switching its release window from Spring 2015 to just 2015. In addition to the release date change, the developer has also shared some pretty sweet screenshots of the game in action.
This past weekend, Image & Form took SteamWorld Heist to PAX East where it received praise from both attendees and press, but unfortunately we’re going to have to wait a little longer before you can get our hands on the game. It seems their ambitious February target that the developers set themselves was a little too out of reach and thus have decided to push the release date back a little.
“When we announced the game back in September we thought we’d be done by February, then we thought we’d be done by the end of March and now… spring 2015 is almost over,” the developers revealed on their blog. “So what that means is that SteamWorld Heist is going to be delayed with a few months. But all the extra time we take will be visible in the final release.”
With that, they’ve changed the release window to 2015 noting that “it won’t be before fall this year,” so we’re probably looking at an early Holiday release? Either way, the team promise that with the extra time they’ll “make SteamWorld Heist the best turn-based, skill-based strategy game with steampunk robots. In space.”
Yeah, I can get behind that!
Here are those glorious screenshots:
