Teabox secures new funding, plans push into key markets
Many of us here at n3 are avid tea drinkers, and so it seemed relevant to include some tea-specific news today. I hadn’t heard of Teabox before today, so forgive me if you’re already an expert Teabox user!
Teabox is a direct-to-door tea delivery service that was started a couple of years ago, and has proved to be quite popular – there have been numerous features about the company in all the top business magazines. You can select your tea right down to the specific detail such as growing season and plantation then purchase your tea in set amounts, or you can sign up for a tea subscription service (think LootCrate but with a variety of teas to try).
They also offer free samples of all their teas, and you just pay for the shipping price (which obviously will vary depending on the volume of samples you want to receive). Teabox tea is sourced and shipped from Indian tea estates, and the company is a certified Darjeeling tea seller and registered member of the Tea Board of India, so you know they take tea seriously!
The latest update for Teabox is that the company has just secured a cool $6m in new funding, and plans to use that money to raise interest and growth in some key global markets (specifically the USA, Australia, Canada and Russia). Hmm, now I’m thirsty. Time for a cuppa!
