Ubisoft are hoping to pull more drivers into The Crew with new two hour trial
It’s clear that The Crew wasn’t much of a success with various mixed reviews appearing across the board, retailers drastically dropping the price of the game a week or so after launch, and even Ubisoft themselves expecting little profit from the open world racer. So now, with servers likely being severely underpopulated the publisher is hoping you’ll jump back into the game, or at least try the game for free, and hopefully buy it, with a brand new free-trial offer.
Available from today onwards, players can dive into a new free trial for the action-driving MMO, The Crew, available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One giving them two hours of full access to the game. Should they want to purchase the game after this trial they can, and their progress will continue from there onwards. Though I’m not sure two hours is really enough to see what the game is truly about.
For existing players, there’s something for you too, as a brand new Vintage Car Pack and Vintage Live Update is being added to the game along with a new PvP mode, which will be available in the next store update. The Vintage Car Pack includes the classic sleek-lined Chevrolet Corvette C2, the iconic and powerful Chevrolet Corvette C3 and the lightning-quick Spyker C8 Aileron. The pack is available for Season Pass holders, or can be purchased separately.
The Vintage Live Update is also set to bring some new content in the form of four new faction missions themed for speed racers, featuring dirt races in the Wild West, brawls in the Deep South, cruise down Route 66, and find yourself causing chaos in Sin City. In addition to this free content, another new addition is the Blitz Brawl PvP mode which sees players hurrying from zone to zone to score points. It’s essntially a car-version of King of the Hill where players must remain in the zone for as long as possible while not getting pushed out by opponents.
So, will you be taking part in The Crew’s trial?
