The Elder Scrolls Online Drops Subscription Fee Today!

The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited launches today on PC & Mac dropping the game’s subscription fee

In January, Zenimax Bethesda announced that The Elder Scrolls Online would be finally coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in June and along with that, it would be coming entirely subscription free. Along with that news, they also revealed that the subscription-based PC and Mac versions of the game will be getting the subscription-free update a few months before the console release. Well that time has come and now you can play The Elder Scrolls Online for free!

If you’ve been playing The Elder Scrolls Online for some time now, you may be wondering what’s going to happen with your existing subscription and whether you can revert to a free account. Well the simple answer is this: If you keep your subscription in tact, you’ll be awarded a premium membership also known as ESO Plus, which will offer exlcusive in-game bonuses, a monthly allotment of crowns to use in the store, and access to all of the DLC game packs while a member.

So, whether you’d rather go free-to-play and purchase in-game items via the Crown Store to support the game, or continue your subscription you can! To celebrate the release of Tamriel Unlimited Bethesda has launched a new gameplay trailer, which you can see above.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited launches on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on June 9.
