Disney Infinity 3.0 was unveiled as GameInformer’s cover, but now Disney Interactive has released the announcement trailer
Disney Infinity 3.0 is the latest version of Disney’s Toys to Life game franchise, this time bringing a swath of characters from Star Wars. The game will be launching with a Star Wars focussed starter pack that’ll include Anakin Skywalker and Clone Wars’ Ahsoka figures and will cost $64.99 and will come with a handful of new Star Wars, Marvel, and Disney-Pixar content and characters into the game’s toy box.
In addition to the starter pack, other sets are set to arrive that’ll be set in the timeline of Episodes I-III, another set during the original trilogy, Episodes IV-VI, and finally a set that’s set to launch this winter based on the upcoming flick, Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
For those not too fussed about Star Wars, other sets will launch offering gameplay and environments from other Disney properties such as a Disney-Pixar Play Set based on the upcoming movie, Inside Out, and a new Marvel Play Set featuring the Hulkbuster Iron Man, Ultron, and other Marvel characters. Classic characters from The Walt Disney Company, like Mickey and Minnie, Sam Flyn and Quorra from Tron: Legacy, Mulan, Olaf, and many others.
The Toy Box will also be getting even more enhanced with two new multiplayer Toy Box expansions Games, a Kart racing based Toy Box Speedway, and an action-advenure-focused, Toy Box Takeover.
As for compatibility, all figures and Power Discs from the 1.0 and 2.0 editions of the game will be compatible with Disney Infinity 3.0 in the enhanced Toy Box. In addition, for the first time ever, Power Discs will be sold separately in labelled franchise-specific packs of four.
