Halo 3: ODST given out for free to those affected by Master Chief Collection bugs

Microsoft has began rolling out free codes for Halo 3: ODST as a way of apologizing for the issues in Halo: The Master Chief Collection. This is the remastered version of Halo 3: ODST, which is now available on Xbox One, the remastered game was officially released this morning. Which was a sooner release than expected. The game is available to all Xbox One users.

A download code is offered for free if you bought the Master Chief Collection between November 11 and December 19. The free code is Microsoft’s way of burying the hatchet after the Master Chief Collections disappointment. As you’ve probably heard, a hyped matchmaking system was found to be broken after the launch. Microsoft sent tons of patches to fix the issues, even though it got better, it was never completely fixed.

Halo 3: ODST remastered is available for $4.99 from the Xbox Store, for those not eligible to get the game for free. If you are eligible, you should get a code soon if you haven’t already. The game is only available as a Digital Download.

343 Industries has only remastered the campaign, and no multi-player features are available for ODST. Since the only ODST multi-player mode was Firefight, this shouldn’t hesitate you from trying out ODST.
