Microsoft made the right decision to purchase Mojang as the block building title, Minecraft, has sold 20 million copies on Xbox
Minecraft, the insanely popular block building sandbox title, launched on the Xbox 360 as a console exclusive in 2012 and has since taken the console world by storm. As the game celebrates its third birthday on the Xbox 360, the developer has revealed that the game has to date sold a whopping 20 million copies on Xbox consoles. Blimey.
Each week in the UK gaming charts I grumble about Minecraft once again taking a space in the top ten. Surely everyone has a copy of the game by now? Either way, the game is selling over and over again week after week, so there’s definitely something going on there and clearly Microsoft made the right decision.
To celebrate the massive milestone, Mojang and console developer 4J Studios has released a handful of celebratory Skin Packs absolutely free which feature the game’s developers and a few other exclusive skins. You can check them out in the gallery below. The skins are available to download until May 17.
