During an earnings call this week, EA has revealed when exactly we’ll be seeing a handful of their anticipated titles such as Mirror’s Edge and Titanfall
For those hoping to get their mitts on the new Mirror’s Edge or even the new Titanfall some point this year, it looks like you’re going to have a little bit of a wait on your hands. During an investors call this week, EA highlighted some of their upcoming releases revealing roughly when they’ll be launching. Mirror’s Edge and a new Plants vs. Zombies title will be launching in the first quarter of next year, between January 1 and March 30, 2016.
Mirror’s Edge was finally unveiled at E3 last year, but little detail was released about the game’s setting or story. All we know is that the game is in development, and now it’ll be launching in the first quarter of next year. As for Plants vs. Zombies, a new game will be launching on PC and Consoles for that too and will likely be the successor to Garden Warfare, details on whether it’s a new instalment or a new title altogether remains to be seen.
Elsewhere in the call, EA revealed that along with Star Wars: Battlefront, a new Need for Speed title will be launching this year – as expected, putting its release window in the final quarter of the year. It’ll be a double release too with both the mobile and console Need to Speed game’s making an entrance.
As for Titanfall 2, we’ve got an even longer wait for that, with EA saying that it’ll likely land in Fiscal 2017, which is set to begin some time after April 2016, so we’ve got at least a good year to wait before we see what Respawn Entertainment have planned for the Titanfall series. As Fiscal years are often confusing, EA’s 2017 Fiscal Year begins on April 1, 2016, through March 31, 2017.
Here’s EA’s upcoming slate which counts for April 1, 2015 to March 31, 2016:
