SEGA is taking the axe to a number of undisclosed mobile titles which the company feel are underperforming
Quick, download as many SEGA games while you can as the publisher has revealed that they’re going to be removing a number of games, the names of which are currently withheld, in order to offer “a great playing experience” regardless of platform.
SEGA announced the news on their blog this Friday stating that because they’re committed to offering high quality and entertaining titles, a number of their mobile titles currently don’t meet those standards. The company has revealed that it’ll be removing games from all app stores including iTunes, Google Play, Samsung and Amazon app stores. In the blog post SEGA added that if you have already purchased one of their games that is set to be removed, it’ll remain yours forever until you own an incompatible device.
It’s worth mentioning that SEGA did add that while the games may be removed, they could return in a better updated form. Interesting..
Currently SEGA have over 20 games on the Google Play Store ranging from Sonic and All Stars Racing Transformed to Jet Set Radio. There’s also a number of Crazy Taxi titles on the store and an almost endless amount of Sonic games.
If you’re a fan of any of these titles, it might be a good time to get downloading before they’re fully removed within the next few weeks.
