A petition to bring back Silent Hills has almost raised an impressive 50,000 signatures as players want the game to continue development
Earlier this week Konami revealed that Silent Hills had been cancelled, this followed the news that the demo for the game, known as P.T. was being removed from the PlayStation Network, and then word from creator Guillermo del Toro and actor Norman Redus revealing that the game had been canned. Since then however many have flocked to Change.org in an effort to get the game reinstated and have development continue on what people are calling one of the best horror titles for a long, long time.
“Hearing the cancellation of one of the most anticipated horror games is about the most heartbreaking thing horror fans had to swallow this year,” reads the petition created by Yauheni Zinkevich. The petition began earlier this week as soon as rumours surfaced that it had been canned. Once Konami confirmed the cancellation, many flocked to the petition to share their thoughts on the news and hopefully, by signing the petition, have the game continue development.
“Although the reasons are not yet announced I am begging you along with countless others: Please continue the Development on Silent Hills, if the issue is money related, we would love to see a Crowdfunding campaign like Kickstarter to ensure you are getting all the financial help there is! We´d love to see it happen at some point and want to thank you for all the great games you have released so far!” Zinkevich writes.
You can head to Change.org to sign the petition yourself, there’s no guarantee it’ll do anything, but a quick signature couldn’t hurt, right?
