Disney Infinity 3.0 has been officially unveiled in this month’s Game Informer
Disney, Marvel, and Star Wars, all of them have teamed up to try and fulfil another aspect of my imagination. Another dizzy daydream come to life.
As you know the Disney Infinity games series from Disney Interactive uses action figures to accompany game play, toys-to-life as they’re called. We’ve had your favourite Disney characters brought to life like Jack Sparrow, Mr. Incredible and Sully.
Next we had Marvel and we got our first glimpse of Disney playing with their Avenger and Spider-man toys together. Guess what we’ve got next? Just think about it. What other popular franchise has Disney acquired and would be very keen to promote?
Star Wars of course.
Previously leaked, Disney Infinity 3.0 will allow players to re-live both trilogies and seemingly the Clone Wars TV series, as seen on the box-art with Anakin, Leia, and Vader.
With implications that you won’t be just grabbing a lightsaber, you’ll also grab a blaster, and maybe the reigns of a pod racer (is this the thing that made people like Episode 1?) and imagination forbid, an X-Wing fighter?
What else can we say? Well, check out the Toy Story gang meeting another popular toy set. The Millenium Falcon and Han and co? Well, I don’t know, those shadows aren’t giving anything away.
Disney Infinity 3.0 is set to launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Wii U, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 this Autumn, in a Starter Pack priced at $64.99.
Personally. When I played Disney Infinity 2.0 at a shop display I didn’t see the hype. It seemed quite straight forward to me and playing as Thor should mean I’m more powerful right? And not taking down by nameless AIM goons?
So what else could be next for the Disney Infinity series? Well, they do have Indiana Jones and Disney have already announced a movie is coming out at some point. Just be careful guys, the last time someone left ages to do one. People didn’t like Kingdom of Crystal Skull.
Just enjoy the trailer and just enjoy the year of the Star Wars. Another vain attempt to coin a phrase.
Check out the trailer from Game Informer you must!
