Before Bethesda revealed the upcoming DOOM revival, another title was in the works and this is what it looked like
It seems id Software had a very different idea for DOOM 4 before it was cancelled and that’s proven in this footage of the game which has surfaced online. And no, this isn’t a new trailer for the upcoming Call of Duty video game.
The video, which you can see above, includes pretty terrible audio so if you’re wearing headphones turn it down. Are you on mute? Good. Now take a look at the video before and wonder, if this was the next DOOM, would it be something you’d be keen to play? If you’re a fan of the series you’re probably thinking “hell no”. Well, aren’t you glad it’s been cancelled in favour of this.
For those who don’t know the history behind the above video. Before the DOOM revival which has been teased recently and will likely be fully unveiled at E3 next month, DOOM 4 was in development but switched hands when the earlier version failed to hit the mark. One of the many reasons for the cancellation was because the game which was initially in production at id Software was “not Doom 4”, said Bethesda marketing executive, Pete Hines.
The video above proves exactly that.
