Just a couple of months ago, there were images leaked of an Oppo smartphone and now there’s another one, this time from ZTE.
Reportedly, there was a page featuring the Nubia X8 on an official ZTE website but it was taken down. However, a user managed to get a picture and the specs of the device before the page was removed. From the specs, it appears to be a compelling phone.
The X8 has a 5.5-inch or 6-inch bezel-less display at 2556 x 2440 resolution, 4GB of RAM, 32 or 64GB of storage and a huge 5120 mAH battery. It’ll be available in black and gold and comes with Android 5.0.
The previously mentioned Oppo phone was later revealed to be the R7 and the real product did feature bezels. This rumoured X8 looks more similar to the R7 Plus, which has a very slim bezel. The X8 actually looks as though the bezel is non-existent. The R7 has the same 6-inch screen but only at 1080p resolution, less RAM (3GB) and a smaller battery (4100 mAh). It is lighter and thinner than the X8 though; 192g compared to 201g for weight and 7.75mm compared to 7.9mm for thickness.
Bezel-less screens always stand out from the competition and it’s something we also saw on the Sharp Aquos Crystal last year. For this latest device though, the X8, there’s no news about a price or possible release date. We’ll have to wait and see if we hear more about it in the future.
