The next expansion for FPS MMO Destiny has just been outed by Red Bull Packaging..
For a while we’ve heard many rumours about the next lot of Destiny Expansions. One of those expansions is The Taken King. A trademark was filed a short while back by Bungie which included the name and logo for The Taken King, and now some retail packaging for Red Bull energy drinks have once again spilled the beans.
The Taken King is likely to be the major Destiny update which is expected in September that’ll coincide with the game’s one-year anniversary. The update is set to take Destiny into version 1.5 and will be released in a boxed edition, at least that is according to a leaked Bungie schedule. This likely means that Destiny: The Taken King, could be a Game of the Year style re-release for the game offering all of its current expansions in one neatly wrapped packaging.
According to the US packs of Red Bull (thanks, Game Informer), codes are being offered for bonus XP and an “epic quest” in Destiny: The Taken King when it launches.
Chances are we’ll hear much more about Destiny: The Taken King at E3 in a few weeks time.
The question is, would you go back to Destiny if the game is re-released with all of the expansions on board?
