J-Stars Victory VS+ has more manga heroes than you can shake a stick at, and Naruto is one of them..
Later this month Bandai Namco is finally launching J-Stars Victory VS+ in the west as it lands on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PS Vita. It includes over 45 heroes from various Jump series’ including Dragon Ball, One Piece, and Naturo Shippuden. The past couple of days we’ve been taking a look at some of those characters and today we’re introducing you to another, Naruto.
Name: Naruto Uzumaki
Anime/Franchise: From the eponymously titled Manga and Anime Naruto Shuppuden. Naruto Shuppuden started out in 1999 and despite the manga concluding after 700 chapters and a recent film concluding the story even further. The anime still broadcasts, with a spin-off manga being published, and various projects in the works including video games and a live stage show.
The franchise follows the exploits of Naruto Uzumaki, an orphan and outcast in the Hidden Leaf Village, who strives to become the greatest ninja ever by becoming Hokage, the leader of the Hidden Leaf Village. Naruto has a demon known as the Nine-Tailed Fox sealed inside of him by his parents when he was a baby to save the village, in the story many write Naruto off and fear him. Naruto in the end, just shows with a little hard work you can achieve anything.
What he’ll bring to J-Stars Victory VS+: Naruto’s moves from the game are deeply set in the later stages of his story. Check out the Wind Air Rasengan (Rasengan loosely translates as Charka Bullet), a fusion of Naruto’s wind element and special technique taught to him by Master Jiraiya. Essentially a powerful energy blast from the hands. Later on the franchise we also saw Naruto receive some power ups as he began to harness the raw power of Nine-Tailed Fox. After learning the demons name and building a friendship with him. Naruto can enter the Bijuu Mode. This where Naruto and the Nine-Tailed Fox work together and become more powerful.
Hence the Bijuu Dama. So whilst Naruto is on the back of the Nine-Tailed Fox they can fire a powerful energy blast.
Supporting characters include Sasuke, Naruto’s best friend and lifelong project, that project being; bringing back Sasuke from the brink of being evil as tries to avenge the death of his entire clan known as the Uchiha. No doubt Sasuke’s powers will be a bit strange since his clan all have access to the Sharingan, A powerful eye based technique.
He won’t be alone since Sasuke’s ancestor Madara will be representing team Naruto during the game. Madara is an ancestor of Sasuke who helped form the Hidden Leaf Village but lead the Uchiha clan against the Hidden Leaf.
Naruto has a strong moral compass accompanied by a hard work ethic. Natural allies will be Goku and Ichigo, since all three are powerful and just don’t give up.
Naruto would likely try and be-friend Dragon Ball Z’s Vegeta, since Naruto enjoys having a friendly rival around. The Likes of Frieza on the other hand would be an enemy of Naruto during the game. Though he may have to keep an eye on his own camp since Sasuke can switch sides at a blink in his quest for power and revenge, mostly influenced by ancestor Madara.
Let’s face it, Vegeta doesn’t like people who are more powerful than him. Watch out Naruto!
J-Stars Victory VS+ is set to launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PS Vita on June 26. The game features 52 characters from 32 different Jump series, and we’ll be discussing more of these later this week.
