With Windows 10 Mobile coming later this year, we should expect to see more high-end and competitive devices on Microsoft’s platform. AdDuplex’s ad network has discovered two unknown Windows Phone devices, which could be the apparent Microsoft Lumia 940 and 940 XL.
The first device, entitled ‘Microsoft RM-1104’, has a 5.2-inch screen at 1080p resolution. The second device is called the ‘Microsoft RM- 1100’ and it has a resolution of 1440×2560. Although there’s no information about the screen size, it’s a Quad HD resolution which is comparable to high end Android devices such as the Galaxy S6.
These specs match the rumours about the Lumia 940 and 940 XL. Other rumours about the former are that it’ll feature a 24-25MP back camera, 5MP front, an Iris scanner and native Pen support.
Rumours about the XL say that it could be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon processor – Windows Phone 10 supports octa-core chips so that’s why we should see much better phones on this platform in the future. In addition, a 20MP camera back camera, 5MP front and the same Iris and Pen support like its little brother.
No word as to a release date so we’ll have to wait and see whether these rumours prove to be true. Either way, there should be much more compelling Windows Phone devices in the near future.
