Logitech Change Their Name to Logi

Logitech are getting with the times this week by announcing that the company is changing its name to the old fashioned and dated ‘Logitech’ to the more simple ‘Logi’. The reason for this change is because “tech says nothing”.

Logitech are best as the company that makes PC peripherals such as keyboards, mice, and webcams, and while that name has become synonymous with some pretty decent products as well as some of the best reasonably priced peripherals, the company feels that it just doesn’t work with today’s gaming and tech culture.

As a result, the company has announced today that they’ll from this day forward be known as Logi.

“Tech is everywhere,” says Logitech’s VP of brand development Charlotte Johs in an interview with Gizmodo. “Tech is in the air you breathe…it’s in your clothes…in the future, ‘tech’ doesn’t say anything.”

With a new name also comes a new logo. This takes a complete step away from the 34-year-old logo with a much cleaner, minimalist, and modern design. Logi have also taken cues from its acquisition of Ultimate Ears and the release of its Boom speakers, with an eye-popping colour palette.

Logitech isn’t going away for good just yet, the company has revealed, as it’ll remain their “formal name” according to Gizmodo, and will be sticking around on some of its classic products like mice, keyboards, and even the Boom speakers, until the Logi name rolls out completely.

I’m just figuring out how to pronounce it…
