With the launch of Halo 5: Guardians coming in just a few short months, Microsoft has this week revealed that the entire Halo series overall, has sold around 65 million copies worldwide. Are you surprised? Probably not.
The last we heard about Halo sales was in October of last year, where Microsoft revealed that the series had sold 60 million worldwide. This was just before the release of the Master Chief Collection, so with that it’s probably safe to assume the Master Chief Collection as sold a pretty hefty chunk of that 5 million.
Though not all of that 5 million can be attributed to The Master Chief Collection as ongoing legacy sales of existing and classic Halo titles, and even games like Halo: Spartan Assault will also added to that number.
That number is likely expected to rise in October this year as the launch of Halo 5: Guardians will be upon us, though fans are pretty reserved after the failure that was Halo: The Master Chief Collection, so chances are sales may start off a little slow.
Halo 5: Guardians launches on October 27.
