As we move closer to the supposed announcement of the S6 Edge Plus, there’s been a leak that suggests it could have as much as 4GB of RAM.
August 12 is reportedly the day where Samsung will launch the Note 5 and the Edge Plus – a month earlier than in previous years. There have been rumours that the Note will be Samsung’s first smartphone to have 4GB of RAM and according to SamsungViet, the Edge Plus will have the same amount.
If this proves to be the case, it’ll be an upgrade on the current 3GB on the S6 and S6 Edge. SamsungViet reports that it’ll keep the Exynos 7420 chip from those devices – rather than the Snapdragon 808. However the Exynos chip will be clocked in higher than the current 2.1GHz – no specific figure was given. It’ll also have a 3000 mAh battery (compared to 2550 mAh on the S6 and 2600 mAh on the S6 Edge).
There have been several other leaks of the Edge Plus, for example last month where popular YouTuber MKBHD showed pictures of it. It’s also rumoured to have a 5.5-inch screen, Android 5.1.1, a 16MP back camera and 5MP front one.
The launch date is only a couple of weeks away so until then, take all this information with a grain of salt as usual.
