During their big reveal event today, Motorola finally announced the new updated Moto G which comes with more RAM, more storage, and IPX7 certification for water and dust resistance.
Other than the updated back to match up with today’s other reveals of the Moto X Style and the Moto X Play, the Moto G looks practically the same as its predecessor. This time however it’s more the insides that have had a going over, as the device packs a little more of a punch, with a similar, affordable price point.
The third generation Moto G comes with the same 5-inch 720p display as its predecessor, but adds an upgraded 1.4GHz Snapdragon 410 processor. It’ll also be getting a bunch of customisation options via Motorola’s Moto Maker, which is an added bonus.
As Motorola are all about offering an awesome camera, the Moto G also gets an upgrade here. It’s not quite the 21-megapixels offered with the Moto X Style or Play, but it is pretty good for a low-end device. It’ll be upgraded from 8-13-megapixels.
For those who want a much quicker experience you can opt for the 16GB variant which offers 2GB RAM, but for those who want affordability, the cheapest version of the already affordable handset offers 8GB storage and just 1GB RAM.
In addition to all of this, it’ll also come with IPX7 certification which means it should withstand submersion in up to 3 feet of water for 30 minutes.
It’ll have Android Lollipop on board, and will also have 4G connectivity. It’ll also have a much larger battery than last year’s model too.
